We are delighted to share highlights from our recent tree planting day at Rutherford Primary School, marking the end of another wonderful project and celebrating the lasting connections we’ve built with the school community. Working together to construct a new teaching block, we’ve had the unique opportunity to engage with the students and staff throughout the journey—from walkthroughs of the construction site to immersive 3D virtual tours that showcased the building’s early stages and progress over time.
Our traditional tree planting event provided a fitting close to the project, and Rutherford Primary’s request made it even more special. They asked us to help expand their rongoā garden, a space dedicated to traditional plants and vegetables, some with important medicinal uses. It was inspiring to learn from the students as they eagerly shared their knowledge about the different plants and their traditional purposes. Watching the children plant and explain the significance of each plant highlighted the importance of cultural heritage and left us with a deeper appreciation for the land we were helping restore.
The experience at Rutherford Primary has been one of learning, collaboration, and shared pride. We are grateful for the honour of working with such a dedicated school community and look forward to the lasting memories we’ve created together. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Rutherford Primary—your warmth, knowledge, and enthusiasm have made this project truly unforgettable.
