Making a Difference: Boundary West Reserve Cleanup

December 6, 2024
Watts & Hughes joined Go Well Consulting and other sustainability leaders for a cleanup event at Boundary West Reserve in Point England. This collaborative effort brought together a committed group of individuals determined to improve our local environment.

In just one hour, the team achieved outstanding results:

  • Collected 45kg of litter, including plastics, food packaging, and old clothing.
  • Removed approximately 235kg of illegally dumped items, such as armchairs, temporary metal fences, mattresses, and bedframes.

A special thanks to Go Well Consulting for organizing this initiative and for their dedication to sustainability. The event was further enriched by the involvement of the Tāmaki Community Recycling Centre, where site supervisor Giulio Laura shared insights into their circular economy approach, which focuses on reusing and recycling materials to reduce waste sent to landfills.

We are proud to have contributed to this meaningful event and are grateful to everyone who participated. Together, we demonstrated the power of community and collaboration in creating a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Let’s continue working together to protect and improve our environment for generations to come
