Whakatane Aquatic Centre
The Whakatane Aquatic Centre required leaky building remedial works where the entire building had to be re-roofed, the exterior envelope replaced to ensure that the integrity of the water- and weathertightness was fully restored and some internal alterations were also done.
An internal vapour barrier was also installed which provides defence from moisture egress.
While the initial budget was exceeded this was due to developed design. Watts & Hughes worked closely with the client and designers to value engineer this project and provide the desired outcome.
A project specific QA system was put in place in conjunction with the client and designers to ensure the integrity of the project. At completion the QA information was relied on to issue CCC.
