Watts & Hughes have successfully partnered with Woolworths NZ to build their new $60mil Countdown Fresh Distribution Centre (CFDC) that is to be located in the Tawhiri Industrial Park which adjoins the Izone Business Hub in Rolleston just outside of Christchurch.

This development will provide the Countdown network with an 11,500 square meter purpose-built distribution facility for its fresh and perishable product lines.

This architecturally designed building has a number of sustainability features including, rain water harvesting, energy efficient lighting and controls together with added provision for solar panels to be installed at later stage. The building is to be being built to achieve minimum standard of 4 stars under NZGBC Green Star Certification Rating System.

The project is due to start in late May 2022 and due to be completed by late October 2023.
