325 Victoria Street Mixed Use Development
Watts & Hughes has been selected as the main contractor to construct a new 540m2 mixed-use building at 325 Victoria Street in Hamilton.
325 Victoria was designed to be a mixed-use development. It now sits proudly in Hamilton’s Victoria Street as a replacement for the existing McKenzie Building which had been home to numerous businesses over a number of years prior to its demolition phase as part of the contract.
The entire existing building that rested neatly between building either side was carefully demolished in its entirety to make way for the new development. The new building at 325 Victoria Street is largely a pre-cast panel and steel structure comprising a ground and first floor arrangement. Each floor area is approximately 460m2 in coverage. The ground floor was largely a base-build for a mixture of retail and restaurant development to be constructed at a later stage. The first floor was divided into 3 separate 3 bedroom apartments.
