Gisborne Police Station
This project is situated in one of Gisborne’s prime locations. The design and construction for this project were based on retaining the existing historic facade. The main building provides 29 cells to the ground level, a number of offices to the first level and multi-purpose rooms to the second level. The two-level carparking building to the rear accommodates access for prisoner transfers and carparking for the majority of staff.
The structure comprises screw piles 20m deep to suitable bearing capacity, floating ground slab and Stahlton flooring system to the remaining two levels. The northern and eastern facades have been retained the and the southern and western walls have been constructed from block with a painted, plaster finish. The roof structure has been formed from structural steel and long run roof iron has been installed.
