The council had the Asbestos removed around the base of the Detour Theatre and then engaged Watts & Hughes to install new weather boards to fill in the area that had been removed and to also remove the sash windows and repair the windows and get them back into work condition. There was also 4 windows that were beyond repair and they were to be remove and new ones supplied and installed. Once the new weather board and refurbished windows were installed the whole building was going to be painted and given a spruce up
