Koru School, Auckland
This $15.3M redevelopment project replaces the existing classrooms and provides new, innovative learning spaces to accommodate the increased roll capacity of 670 students. The school’s library, administration building and hall will also be replaced. All work is taking place within the confines of the existing, operating school facility.
The new buildings will provide the best possible environment indoors and out ranging from flexible learning spaces to upgraded playing field and hard courts.
Work commenced on site in November 2015 and Practical Completion was achieved in April 2018.
This is a project which invested itself right through the school, we had to ensure careful work methodology’s were carried out, with high segregation between the site zones and the school, sometimes a slower more thought out approach ensures some projects success, this is how we approached this and it proved the correct way to go.
Keeping a very close daily and sometimes hourly relationship with the school and its stake holders, was the key to this projects success we had to ensure we had kept a fluid construction team ready to accommodate any urgent requests from the school at any one time, also ensuring the school kept the surrounding neighbouring property owners up to date with any activities that may of caused them stress or discomfort helped tremendously
