Tauranga Sensory Resource Centre
The development consisted of a building for a resourcing centre that caters the deaf & blinds resourcing managers to have as a home base and meeting facility, sealed carpark and an access road. The floor for the Sensory is constructed of a ring foundation concrete floor with timber framing, timber trusses LVL rafters and DHS purlins. The roof cladding was Diamond Veedek Roofing 0.55 BMT colour steel 28mm Trapezoidal profile steel.
The wall cladding was constructed with Hermpac shiplap 135 x 18.5mm cedar weather boards and Diamond Veedek wall cladding. The inside of the building is mainly office space with 2 resource rooms, a multipurpose room, a kitchen area and 3 toilets with the disable toilet including a shower facility. The building is fitted with a full HVAC system and the finishes to the inside consist of Painted walls with feature walls with strips of coloured Autex. They have installed carpet tiles throughout the main areas of the offices and Vinyl to the toilets and kitchen area. The internal doors are all fitted with electro manic swipe cards for added security
