Western Refuse Transfer Station
The Western Refuse Transfer Station is a new development of an existing brown field site.
Its names says it all, where the 2.3ha site has been decontaminated where possible, substantially filled with imported fill to new levels. Considerable retaining walls constructed to the site perimeter assisting with the changed topography. Extensive access roading for heavy transport movement & with a 50m x 75m portal frame transfer house, where our rubbish is spread & compacted for further transport to Land fill sites beyond Auckland.
There is a purpose built administrative office straddling a major sewer line with staff car parking for 38 vehicles.
With substantial impervious roading so close to the Henderson Creek. Designed storm water treatment systems about the perimeter of the site are to be installed to manage & control liquids & solids associated with waste processing.
The industrial plant has a fast build duration with all 2.3ha rain or shine, a busy active site all day, completion in 7 months.
Over 10,000m3 of soil shifted, 100 Precast Panels placed, 5,000m2 of cladding fitted, 200 piles sunk over 7 works faces, all woven together for site co-ordination.
The heavy duty Industrial purpose Warehouse project consisted of 2 stages.
